The Colorado Convention Center is a multi-purpose convention center located in Downtown Denver, Colorado. At 2,200,000 square feet it is currently the 12th largest convention center in the United States.
 
  • The CCC has approximately 2,200,000 square feet of total indoor space. 
  • Exhibit space is around 584,000 square feet (pre-expansion). 
  • It also includes about 100,000 square feet of meeting / breakout rooms and around 94,656 square feet of ballroom space (prior to its latest expansion). 
 
Recent Expansion:
  • Between 2021 and late 2023, CCC underwent a rooftop “vertical” expansion (i.e. built on existing roof) adding:
      • An 80,000 sq ft column-free multifunction ballroom 
      • 35,000 sq ft of new pre-function / concourse space 
      • A 20,000 sq ft outdoor terrace with views of downtown and the Rocky Mountains.
  • The expansion integrates with the existing structure and does not expand the building footprint outward. 
  • Upon completion, the new expansion adds roughly 150,000 sq ft of meeting space and 600,000 sq ft of exhibit capability 
 
Modernity / Features:
  • The new ballroom is column-free and highly flexible (divisible into multiple configurations) to suit large sessions or numerous breakout rooms.
  • Enhanced systems (HVAC, lighting, technology infrastructure) were included to support contemporary standards for health, comfort, and event tech.
  • The outdoor terrace offers scenic views of Denver’s skyline and the Rocky Mountains, making it an attractive amenity for receptions and social gatherings. 
 
Popularity / Impact:
  • The CCC hosts around 400 events per year 
  • For 2025, bookings are expected to generate a combined economic impact near $672 million from CCC events alone (with nearly 277,451 attendees). 
  • The CCC is well positioned within downtown Denver, within walking distance of 13,000+ hotel rooms, adding to its attractiveness for large event planners. 
  • Accessibility is strong: the CCC is served by light rail (Theatre District / Convention Center Station) and is centrally located in Denver’s walkable downtown.
